Peabody-Burns High School track and field athlete Lucas Larsen posted personal bests in all three throwing events at the Crosley Invitational on Friday at Pretty Prairie.
He threw the discus 108 feet, 5 inches; shot put, 39-8.75; and javelin, 127-1. He finished in seventh place in discus and shot put and eighth in javelin.
Paige Lewis placed second in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles with a time of 53.1 seconds and third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.9 seconds.
Sheldon Wiebe placed second in both the 800- and 1600-meter runs with times of 2:07.9 and 4:52.3, respectively.
Andrew Sheffler placed third in the 100- and 400-meter dashes with times of 11.8 seconds and 54.4 seconds. He also placed fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.6 seconds.
James Thomas Invitational
Wiebe and Silvia Flores each posted one new personal best April 29 at the James Thomas Invitational in Hillsboro.
Wiebe ran the 1600 in 4:48.59, good for third place. Additionally, he placed fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:13.06.
Flores jumped 15-8.5 in the long jump, earning third place.
Lewis ran the 100 hurdles in 17.86 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 55.16 seconds.
Seth Topham placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 16.37 seconds. He also ran the 300 hurdles in 47.35 seconds and jumped 5-8 in the high jump.
Sheffler placed fifth in the 100 with a time of 11.36 seconds. He also ran the 200 in 25.53 seconds.
Larsen threw the shot put 37-10.
The 4x100 relay team of Larsen, Topham, Zach Preheim, and Sheffler ran the relay in 48.90 seconds.
