PBHS athletes earn postseason recognition

Three Peabody-Burns High School basketball players recently received postseason honors.

Jacob Simmonds, Aaron Topham, and Danielle Savage all were selected to Heart of America all-league teams.

Simmonds, a junior, was named second team all-league. He averaged 13.4 points and 11.1 rebounds during the season.

He also averaged 5.1 assists, 3.9 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game. He is the son of Brian and Sheryl Simmonds of Peabody.

Aaron Topham, a junior, was named honorable mention all-league.

He averaged 12.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game this past season.

He also had 21 assists, 41 steals, and six blocks.

The Wichita Eagle also pegged Topham as an honorable mention 2A all-state player.

He is the son of Greg and Kim Topham of Peabody.

Danielle Savage, a junior, also was named honorable mention all-league.

She averaged 8.4 points 7.9 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game.

She is the daughter of Ray and Patty Savage of Peabody.
