Peabody-Burns Elementary School students were recognized Thursday in an awards assembly.
Fifth-grade students Tony Adams, Samantha Frye, and Anna Lubbers and sixth-graders Thomas Adams and Brandon Entz received letters in an accelerated reader program where the students read books and took tests to earn points.

Circus ticket winners
Peabody Gazette-Bulletin sponsored a coloring contest for all preschool through sixth-grade students. Two winners were chosen from each grade level. They were Ashtin Percival and Alyssa Holt, preschool; Jonathon Glover and Kaleb Ehrlich, kindergarten; Chance Johnson and Daniel Hamman, first grade; Lexi Schreiber and Paige Garcia, second grade; Nicole Williams and Gesaka Menjivar, third grade; Austin Glenn and Isabella Beal, fourth grade; Mallory Harris and Derik Newman, fifth grade; and Brandon Entz and Katy Woodruff, sixth grade. Winners each received one free ticket to the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus, which will be in Peabody May 26.
