PBES plans book exchange with library

Peabody-Burns Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization and Peabody Township Library are planning a book exchange. The goal is to get “new” reading material in students’ hands before summer break.

The book exchanges starts April 17 and will accept books through May 4. Books will be accepted in gently used condition — cover on, no rips or tears — that will interest children from preschool through fifth grade. All children’s books will be accepted.

Children’s books in good condition may be taken to the PBES office. The program could use them as “seed” books to start the program moving. Peabody Township Library has donated many books that haven’t been checked out for quite some time.

Students may bring in used books with their parents’ permission, receiving one “book buck” for each donated book and may receive up to 10 book bucks. Book bucks may be exchanged for books May 7 through 10.

For more information, contact Stacey Parks or Megan Holt at PBES, (620) 983-2188.
