Paul Williams Jr.
Paul Edward Williams Jr., 92, died Sept. 22.
Born Jan. 21, 1917, in Marion, to Paul and Nettie Williams, he graduated from Marion High School and attended Southwestern University.
He was a truck driver and later was owner and administrator of Cedar Rest Nursing Home.
He participated in Works Progress Association in Minnesota and was featured several years ago when a statue, honoring WPA workers, was placed at Marion County Lake.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II.
He married Mary Plett who preceded him in death in 1987. In 1988, he married Arlene Minard. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Fred of San Antonio and Jim of Spanish Fort, Ala.; a daughter, Ruth Lott of Amarillo, Texas; a stepdaughter, Connie Blank; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday afternoon at Peabody Christian Church.
Graveside services followed at Marion Cemetery.
