Parlee Bloomer

The world lost an amazing woman on Saturday, May 29, 2010, as she was surrounded by her family.

Parlee Lillian (Martin) Bloomer was born on July 8, 1938, to Roy and Elva (Jeter) Martin in Newton, Kansas. On Sept. 11, 1955, she married Donald Bloomer; he survives.

Their marriage was blessed with three girls — Marcia Sebree and Bruce of Oakley, Illinois; Janet Rosine and Randy of Duncan, Oklahoma; and Donna Glover and Steven of Peabody. She is also survived by two brothers — Raymond Martin and Cookie of Florida and Kenneth Martin and Jean of Newton, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, her parents, three brothers, and a sister.

She was an avid quilter. She had donated over 500 quilts to different charities and had made several hundred more for family and friends.

Services are today, June 2, 2010, at Peabody Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Memorials have been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and Heartland Home Care through Baker Funeral Home in Peabody.
