SHERIFF

Aggravated battery

According to a report released Friday, nearly three weeks after the incident, the drug-using common-law spouse of Jaime L. Peale, age redacted, recklessly caused her great bodily harm or disfigurement between 4:30 and 8:09 p.m. June 3 during a lovers’ quarrel that turned into a violent argument at her home in the 200 block of Kansas St. in Lincolnville.

Monitored transmissions indicate that deputies initially were called to escort the suspect from the home, where children were present, but that he left before they arrived. An unidentified 38-year-old reportedly witnessed the incident.

Four days after the incident, Darrin W. Tannehill, 26, Lincolnville, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery. He was released from jail 13 days later after appearing in court and posting a $7,500 bond.

Tannehill previously was jailed Aug. 6 on suspicion of violating an order of protection and from Sept. 6 through 14, 2021, on suspicion of a previous charge of aggravated domestic battery and charges of criminal restraint, aggravated child endangerment, and criminal damage to property.

Those charges were dismissed by the county attorney on Oct. 22, 2021, but Tannehill was charged, though not arrested, with domestic battery after an incident April 8.

Aggravated assault

Cynthia R. Goentzel, age redacted, was threatened with a handgun by an intoxicated boyfriend during a lovers’ quarrel at 3 p.m. June 17 at her residence in the 100 block of Maple St. in Lost Springs.

She was not injured, according to deputy Kaylan Miles’s report. No arrests appear to have been made.

Burglary

Jan T. Zinn of Lost Springs reported that a rusted three-quarter-ton trailer, miscellaneous hand tools, and six pieces of stove pipe worth an estimated $300 were stolen between 8 p.m. June 14 and 1 p.m. June 18 by a burglar who broke into an abandoned home on Vista Rd. north of Lost Springs.

Aggravated domestic battery

Rachel E. Wattson, age redacted, suffered apparent minor injuries when a person described as her boyfriend put his hands over her nose and mouth and impeded her breathing during a lovers’ quarrel at 3:40 p.m. June 18 at her residence in the 300 block of N. Olive St. in Peabody.

Deputy Steven Janzen’s report indicated that her attacker had been drinking.

Andrew K. Sheffler, 30, Peabody was arrested on suspicion of aggravated domestic battery. He was released from jail a day later after posting a $10,000 bond.

Aggravated battery, criminal restraint

Rachel E. Kibby, age redacted, suffered a severe laceration to her forehead at 10:30 a.m. June 21 during what was described as a lovers’ quarrel with her boyfriend at her residence in the 200 block of W. 4th St. in Florence.

Marion ambulance was called after she fled to Florence City Hall and reported the incident, but she declined to be taken to a hospital.

No arrests appear to have been made. According to monitored transmissions, Kibby took refuge at a different residence after the incident.
