These offense reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Drug possession, trespassing

Nine assorted pills and 1.6 grams of methamphetamine (enough for a dozen or more doses) were seized from an intoxicated intruder who broke into a camper at an acquaintance’s home at 4:37 a.m. Aug. 10 on E. Chicago Ave. in Lost Springs.

Brittney S. Guerrero, 34, Lost Springs, was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and of possessing meth and an undetermined controlled substance. She remained in county jail this week in lieu of $5,000 surety bond.

According to monitored transmissions, a sheriff’s deputy was called to the Chicago Ave. residence after a report that an intoxicated woman, kicked out of another residence and forbidden by court order to contact this resident’s son, had broken into a camper at the resident’s home and removed belongings she had left there.

A deputy’s response was delayed by at least 10 minutes by a slow-moving train.

Theft

Two pickup trucks, a welder, a cutting torch, an air compressor, a shop saw, and 20 other power tools, together valued at $65,300, were reported stolen between 9 p.m. Aug. 16 and 10:30 a.m. Aug. 17 from where the apparently unlocked pickups were parked along Quail Creek Rd. near 20th Rd.

Stolen were a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup valued at $20,000 and owned by Jason P. Minor of Americus and a 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 valued at $29,000 and owned by Yachel K. Benedick of Wilsey, who also was listed as owner of the other items.

Deputy Travis Wilson’s report cited no signs of forced entry to the vehicles.

HILLSBORO

Domestic battery, battery, fleeing police, traffic violations

A 16-year-old rural Hillsboro boy was taken to juvenile intake after he allegedly pushed his 17-year-old Peabody girlfriend and struck a 14-year-old Hillsboro boy in Memorial Park and then fled at 7:45 p.m. Saturday on D St. at speeds of up to 90 mph.

Alleged traffic violations include reckless driving, speeding, and running a stop sign during a four-mile police chase.

The chase was discontinued for safety’s sake, but the vehicle was stopped a short time later by a sheriff’s deputy. (See separate story.)

Marion

Speeding, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia

After stopping a car going 117 mph in a 65-mph zone at 10:35 p.m. Friday, an officer reported smelling marijuana. A search reportedly yielded 7.5 grams — enough for more than 21 joints — and a pipe, a bong, and a grinder. No arrest was made, but Andrew M. Nelson, 22, Kansas City, Kansas, received citations alleging speeding and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
