These offense reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Distribution of meth, marijuana, and hallucinogens; possession of paraphernalia and an undetermined controlled substance; and driving with a suspended license

Drugs seized during a previously reported traffic stop at 2:25 a.m. May 11 on 80th Rd. west of U.S.-50 included 23.8 grams of solid methamphetamine (enough for several hundred entry-level doses), 122.5 grams of marijuana (enough for more than 380 “joints”), and 645 grams of THC wax and gummies (enough for several dozen mind-altering edibles).

Also seized were two pills resembling amphetamine and dextroamphetamine, two glass pipes, a black bag, rolling papers, and a blue bottle.

Pedro D. Martinez, 43, Sedgwick, was booked into Marion County Jail, where he was held in lieu of $10,000 surety bond pending a June 1 court appearance.

Theft

Scodelier Construction of Wixom, Michigan, reported that an 18-foot flatbed trailer with pentile hitch was stolen between 11 a.m. May 16 and 11 a.m. May 17 from near K-268 and US-56 south of Lehigh. The trailer was valued at $4,000.

HILLSBORO

Domestic battery

A quarrel at 6:45 p.m. May 17 in the 400 block of S. Cedar St. involving a couple who live together resulted in an arrest after one of them allegedly pushed the other’s shoulders.

Lester Allen Shaffer, 48, Hillsboro, was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery. He was released 16 hours later after posting a $2,500 surety bond.

An offense report remains pending.

Domestic battery

A quarrel among a couple who live together in the 100 block of N. Jefferson St. resulted in an arrest at 7:40 p.m. May 17 after one of them allegedly refused to let the other leave, grabbing her by her hair and shirt.

Police found Samuel I. Reffett, 39, in the 400 block of W. Grand Ave. and arrested him on suspicion of domestic battery. He was released 15 hours later after posting a $2,500 surety bond.

An offense report remains pending.

Theft

Zachary J. Stenzel, 20, Newton, reported May 18 that a pair of Yeezy Boost V2 shoes valued at $200 was stolen between 10 and 11 a.m. April 29 from his unlocked Tabor College dorm room.

Possession of meth and paraphernalia

A check early Sunday on the welfare of a woman outside Casey’s General Store ended up in a drug arrest.

Taken to Hillsboro police station for follow-up, the woman allegedly pulled from her purse a bag containing trace amounts of methamphetamine and two smoking devices.

Dawn M. Setzer, 39, Hillsboro, was arrested on suspicion of possessing meth and drug paraphernalia. She was jailed in lieu of $10,000 surety bond.
