HILLSBORO

Aggravated burglary, possession of drugs and paraphernalia

A 76-year-old resident of the 300 block of S. Wilson St. was awakened around 3 a.m. Sunday by a knock on the door, then an attempt to enter her garage, according to monitored police transmissions.

A 60-year-old Wichita woman, who appears to be a former Marion County resident, was arrested by Hillsboro police on suspicion of entering the garage without permission.

An unspecified amount of methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia were discovered during the arrest, according to an offense report by Hillsboro police.

Jailed on suspicion of aggravated burglary and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia was Dawn Herbel, who was taken to Marion County Jail and held in lieu of $10,000 surety bond.

No items were reported stolen, and no signs of forced entry were reported as being found. A sheriff’s deputy assisted Hillsboro police in investigating.
