Theft
Personal checks were reported stolen between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Nov. 11 from along a rural road near the rural Lincolnville residence of Rowena Plett.
Hillsboro
Theft
A customer ordered and ate a $9 meal at Pizza Hut then left without paying between 9:47 and 11 p.m. Nov. 9.
Theft
Tina M. King, 56, Hillsboro, reported at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 10 a package of women’s clothing worth $296 was stolen between 10:47 a.m. Nov. 6 and 2 p.m. Nov. 9 in the 300 block of S. Wilson St. in Hillsboro. The package was returned without any contents.
Theft
Zachary R. Luthi, 30, Hillsboro, reported Nov. 10 that a $579 Ruger .22 Magnum handgun and his passport and birth certificate were stolen between 7 and 9:30 p.m. Nov. 6 from his home in the 100 block of N. Madison St. Charges against a 26-year-old Marion man suspected in the theft are pending, police said.
Forgery
Darrell L Driggers, 69, Hillsboro, of Container Services, reported at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 that a canceled check for $2,439.22 had been cashed out of state using the company’s bank account at Central National Bank in Hillsboro.
Domestic battery
A domestic quarrel between household members in the 100 block of N. Washington St. resulted in the arrest of Kathryn A. Ryding, 66, on suspicion of domestic battery. The victim reportedly was hit multiple times.
Theft
Brennon R. Machado, 19, Hillsboro, reported Sunday that sometime between July 5 and Sept. 16 his Rossi .22-caliber rifle, worth $140, was stolen from his former residence in the 300 block of N. Ash St.

Identity theft
Samantha G. Wood, 36, Marion, reported 10 a.m. Nov. 7 that her identity was used for an attempted pair of online purchases between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. Nov. 6.
Theft
Nancy Marr, 79, Marion, reported her wallet, along with two credit cards, a driver’s license, and $20 stolen between 6:19 and 6:41 p.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of Victory Ln.
Peabody
Identity theft
Susan M. Kangas, 64, Peabody reported at 2:15 p.m. Oct. 24 that her identity was used to purchase gift cards worth $5,000 between 3 and 5 p.m. Oct. 22.
Protection order violation
Roy W. McGonigal III, 48, Peabody, reported 11:47 a.m. Nov. 7 that someone had violated a protection order 3:16 a.m. Oct. 30 in the 100 block of W. 6th St.
