According to law enforcement reports released this week:



Breanna Lynn Hett, 26, Hillsboro, reported the theft of two American Bully puppies, valued at $1,000, between 5 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. March 20 from inside her residence in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. Hillsboro police chief Dan Kinning said Hett reported coming home to find her back door open and the dogs missing. No signs of forced entry were noted, he said. “We’ve never had a dog-napping before in Hillsboro,” Kinning said. “Anything is possible in this case. We don’t know if someone turned them loose or took them, but we haven’t found them running around free.”

Aggravated assault, criminal trespass, interference with an LEO, disorderly conduct

John R. Davis, 28, Hillsboro, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault, criminal trespass, and interference with a law enforcement officer, and disorderly conduct at 2:11 a.m. Sunday at 206 E. F St. In his report, officer Randy Brazil said Davis allegedly used a large knife to threaten Christian Frank Ward, 40, Hillsboro, during a confrontation. Davis was suspected of using alcohol at the time of the incident, according to the report. Brazil noted that Davis yelled and screamed while being taken into custody.


Obstruction apprehension or prosecution, interference with LEO

Sean D. Wilson, 51, Wichita, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing apprehension or prosecution and interference with an LEO between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday at 314 S. 4th St. when officers arrested Joyce E. Loomis, 44, Wichita, on three arrest warrants.

Transporting an open container of alcohol, operation of motor vehicle without proper license

Bryan Grosse, 36, Marion and Kevin Kelsey, 53, Marion were arrested on suspicion on several charges at 3:12 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of S. Eisenhower St.

While operating a dump truck with a trailer that allegedly had no brake lights, Grosse was pulled over after allegedly failing to stop at stop sign. Upon further investigation, it was allegedly discovered that Grosse did not have a license to operate the particular type of truck and open containers of alcohol were discovered inside the vehicle.

Grosse was arrested on suspicion of transporting an open container, operating a motor vehicle without proper license, no stop/turn lamps, and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Kelsey was arrested on suspicion of a single charge of transportation of an open container of alcohol.


Misdemeanor theft

Brian Stucky, 63, Goessel, reported theft of license plates from a vehicle in the 300 block of S. Church St. occurring sometime between Oct. 1 and March 20.

Theft of property or services

Jon Gibbons, 56, reported theft of a 1995 Cadillac valued at $5,000 from his residence in the 500 block of Lawrence St. in Durham on March 19 or 20. Sheriff’s deputy Mike Ottensmeier reported the vehicle was recovered March 20. Entry to the car was gained by force.

Burglary and criminal damage to property

Vernon Dyck, 80, Hesston, reported theft of a Toro zero-turn mower, miscellaneous tools, and a 5-gallon bucket of milo seed from a residence on 80th Rd. between Eagle and Falcon Rds. on March 16 or 17. A barn door metal bracket was damaged during forced entry of the building. Sheriff’s deputy Bronson Shipman estimated the value of the thefts and damage to be $2,500.
