Marion county

David Remmers, 31, Lincolnville, reported criminal trespass and disorderly conduct in his yard near US-77 and 290th Rd. between 12:50 p.m. and 2:14 p.m. July 14.

Twila Baker, 73, Lincolnville, reported criminal damage to her mailbox on 290th Rd., Lincolnville, that occurred between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. June 22.

hillsboro

Charges are pending against a 58-year old man from Hillsboro after a report that the suspect made contact with a 35 year-old victim, also from Hillsboro, who had an active protection order against the suspect.

Rachel Maciel, 36, Hillsboro, reported that between 9 a.m. June 28 and 9 a.m. June 30, an unknown person tried to use the identity of Jose Maciel Castandeda, 37, Hillsboro, in an attempt to obtain a credit card.

Allison Hammond, 29, Hillsboro reported that a suspect had taken her keys and phone from her purse, then used the keys to take her 2007 Jeep Liberty without her permission between 10 p.m. July 28 and 9 a.m. July 29. The suspect then hid the vehicle and denied taking it. Mickey Lee Brubaker, 19, Hillsboro, was arrested and booked into Marion County Jail.

Andrew Schaefer, 21, Lincolnville, reported battery and criminal threat that happened between 7 and 7:30 p.m. July 29 in the 600 block of Birch St., Hillsboro.

Interference with law enforcement

Two unnamed Marion residents knowingly and willfully concealed a wanted suspect during a police investigation between July 19 and July 26 at 625 S. Freeborn St. Police said the residents’ actions hindered their investigation and otherwise slowed service of the wanted suspect’s warrant. Police reported no further information.

Theft

An unknown person or persons stole a license tag, valued at $3, off the back of a 2007 Ford pickup owned by Jeremy Ensey between 2 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday while it was parked at Ensey’s home.

Theft

An unknown person or persons stole a 12-by-6-foot trailer with a tailgate ramp and a John Deere D140 riding mower, with a combined estimated value of $4,537, between 7:15 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday after detaching the trailer from a truck parked at Prairieland Partners.

Battery, disorderly conduct

Tyrone Vondal, 37, and Debra Willingham, 48, both of Marion, were arrested July 6 on charges of battery and disorderly conduct after Vondal, Willingham, and her boyfriend entered into a verbal argument that turned into a physical altercation. Police reports indicated that Vondal and Willingham were both under the influence of alcohol.

July 26 —Operation of a non-registered motorcycle in the 300 block of N. Birch St. was investigated.

July 27 — A parking complaint was filed in the 300 block of N. Jefferson St, and a report of a possible accident on US-56 was filed, but neither of the involved vehicles were damaged.

July 28 — An unattended animal in a vehicle in the 100 block of N. Main St. was investigated, and someone was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

July 29 — A Hillsboro man was arrested for allegedly stealing a vehicle from the 300 block of N. Jefferson St. A suspicious package at the Hillsboro golf course was investigated. An altercation between two adult males in Memorial Park was investigated; charges of battery are pending.

Thursday — A curfew violation at Memorial Park was investigated.

Friday — A prevention-from-abuse order violation in the 700 block of S. Ash St. and a stalking complaint in the 900 block of E. D St. were investigated.

Saturday — Verbal child abuse was reported in Hillsboro Heights, suspect was gone when police arrived.

July 29 — Mark A. Liske was arrested and jailed on a Michigan felony warrant.

Officers responded to a domestic violence complaint at 402 N. Locust St. The case is under investigation and charges are pending.

Police opened an investigation into illegal dumping at the city burn pit. Suspects have been identified and charges will be filed against them.

Duane Taylor, 53, of Augusta, was jailed on a charge of criminal damage to property.
