SHERIFF
Battery and bodily harm to another
Lance Carter, 21, Hillsboro, reported sustaining minor injuries at 2:30 a.m. Oct. 26 when a person with whom he was allegedly acquainted allegedly struck him with what the police classifies as a “personal weapon,” meaning hands, fists, feet, or other body part, Undersheriff David Huntley reported alcohol was involved in the incident, which allegedly happened at a residence on Limestone Rd. between 110th and 120th Rds.
Criminal property damage
Robert Ayers, 40, Hillsboro, reported an automobile tire was damaged at 3:56 a.m. Oct. 31 at his residence on 150th Rd. between Diamond and Eagle Rds. Undersheriff Huntley reported the value of the loss as $80.
Open container and license restriction
Sheriff’s officer Mike Ottensmeier reported issuing citations for transporting an open container of alcohol and operating a vehicle on a restricted or suspended license to an individual at French Creek Cove at Marion Reservoir at 10:10 p.m. Nov. 2.
Criminal trespassing
Jennifer Hojda, 45, Lost Springs, reported a trespasser at her residence on Vista Rd. between 330th and 340th Rds. at 10 p.m. Nov. 3. Sheriff’s officer Duane McCarty reported the trespasser remained on the property in defiance of an order to leave.
Felony theft
AT&T employee Larry Brooks, 59, Newton, reported the theft of 280 feet of AT&T 25kV underground copper wire from 180th Rd. between Old Mill and Pawnee Rds, sometime between Oct. 17 and Oct. 31. Undersheriff Huntley reported the value of the loss as $2,000.
