These criminal offenses were reported by law enforcement agencies:

Criminal damage

A resident in the 2200 block of 310th Road near Lost Springs reported that a mailbox valued at $100 was destroyed between noon July 22 and 9 a.m. July 27.

Domestic battery

A 20-year-old McPherson woman suffered what was described as a broken nose during an argument with her 44-year-old boyfriend at 4:30 a.m. July 26 in the 300 block of Marion Street in Lehigh. She was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Domestic battery and battery

Three male acquaintances, all from Peabody, tried to stop a 46-year-old Newton man who allegedly went onto private property in the 500 block of Old Mill Road near Peabody at 11:15 p.m. July 23 and yelled, punched, and pushed to the ground his 48-year-old Peabody girlfriend. A 55-year-old acquaintance was struck in the head, a 21-year-old was choked, and a 31-year-old was hit and pushed to the ground.


Alan Hett of Marion reported that a portable generator, valued at $600, was removed between 3 p.m. July 19 and 10 a.m. July 23 from a residential construction site on Remington Road.
