Noah Schrag wins by 7 strokes

On the day of the solar eclipse, Noah Schrag completed his 18 holes of golf one under par (70) and won the Central Christian Invitational tournament at Carey Park Golf Course in Hutchinson.
With little wind and pleasant temperatures, Schrag posted a score seven strokes better than second place.
Levi Schrag finished in 10th place with a score of 87. Chevy Gagnon turned in his best score of the season with 95 and 18th place. Luke Stucky, Anthony Boden, and Jack Nickel rounded out the team.
Goessel finished third as a team, behind Hutch Trinity and Hutch Central Christian.
In spite of the poor air quality Friday and a bothersome south wind, Goessel put together a second place at Hillsboro.
The Bluebirds finished seven strokes behind Hesston and seven strokes better than Chapman.
Noah Schrag led the team with a second-place individual medal, shooting seven over par, 77. Levi Schrag came in sixth with a score of 87. Chevy Gagnon tallied a 98 to secure 11th place.
Boden, Stucky, and Colby Nafziger rounded out the team .
Goessel golf team will not play again until April 22.
Hillsboro
At home Friday for the Hillsboro Invitational, Lincoln Wichert placed 10th with a score of 97. Annaliese Jorgenson placed 17th; Braxton Hiebert, 24th; and Monroe James placed, 39th.
“It was great to see Lincoln get off to a good start for his junior season,” coach Scott O’Hare said.“ Senior Annaliese has gotten off to a bit of a slow start by her standards, but she is getting back on track and hitting some really good golf shots.
“We are hopeful that with more practice and a few more JV tournaments that a few of our other golfers will gain some experience, confidence and consistency to enable us to get a full group of six golfers participating.”
Hillsboro’s next varsity match will be Tuesday in Sterling.
