Newman basketball is part of Wonsevu news

The Williams family hosted Christmas celebrations for one of Gayla Soyez’s, daughter of Bill and Margie, players on the Newman University basketball team. Soyez is an assistant coach with the team.

On Dec. 29, Dale and Tootsie Snelling went to Salina to visit Tootsie’s sister Eleanor Silhan. It was Eleanor’s birthday. They went out to eat.

On Jan. 3, Margie Williams went to the Sports and Aquatic Center in Marion for Nathanial Siero’s birthday. He turned 6. The Snellings also celebrated their great grandson’s birthday and the birthday of Shenny Hess, Nathanial’s grandmother.

On Jan. 6, visitors of Everett Cress were Dave Foley and Rodney Charleston. On Jan. 7, visitors of the Cresses were Keith and Sina Willcox and Gary Suelter of Burns.

Also on Jan. 6, Hazel Clothier met her daughter Teresa Hill in Marion for lunch.

On Jan. 4, Doni Roghers and Margie Williams enjoyed lunch together in Florence.

On Jan. 7, Bill and Margie Williams attended the basketball game at Newman University to see their granddaughter Samantha play. Newman played Forsmith-Arkansas. Newman won.

Following the game, the Williamses met Gary, Terry, Will Gayla, Carl, Becca, Elliot, and Samantha in Newton for supper. They also celebrated a belated Birthday for Gary. Following dinner, the group went to Will and Gayla’s in Goddard for Birthday Cake.

On Jan. 8, dinner guests of Bill and Margie Williams were grandson Carl and his wife Becca Williams of Wamego.
