Neva Heidebrecht
Neva Elizabeth Heidebrecht, age 93, went home to be with her savior Jesus Christ on June 13, 2015.
Neva was born on Aug. 3, 1921, on a farm near Ramona as the third of six children of John and Mary (Kleiber) Heiser.
At age 18, Neva accepted Christ as her savior after hearing a “Back to the Bible” radio broadcast.
She married Victor L. Heidebrecht in 1945. Following World War II they lived in Connecticut while Vic was enrolled at Yale School of Photography.
In 1948 they settled in Moundridge and opened a photography studio, which they owned until 1971. Neva was skilled in oil color photography and worked side by side with her husband in their studio, but the roles of wife and mother meant the most.
During the ’70s, she and Vic served the Lord through Stonecroft Ministries by representing that ministry throughout the U.S. In 1975 they relocated to Lincoln, Nebraska, where Vic was a branch manager for Waddell & Reed.
Neva received great joy in befriending strangers by giving them verses from the Bible, explaining how to get to heaven. Especially in her later years, personal evangelism gave her life extra purpose and meaning. She also treasured family times, adoring her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Neva is survived by her daughter Susan (Stan) Dyck of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and their sons, Scott (Kylee) Dyck and Spencer Weise (Dyck); daughter Ann (Jon) Newcomer of Lincoln, Nebraska, and their daughters Laura (Chris) Churchill of Olathe and Paige Newcomer of Kansas City, Missouri; and son Mark (Debra) Heidebrecht of Towanda, and Mark’s daughter, Allison (Chad) Patton of Benton.
Neva is also survived by her brothers Charles (Ruth) Heiser and John (Lucille) Heiser, all of Kansas, plus seven great-grandchildren.
Neva was preceded in death by her husband, Victor L. Heidebrecht; her grandson Evan Layne Heidebrecht; her sister Kathryn (Ezra) Schimpf Thole; her brother Harry (Irma) Heiser; and her sister Leona (Larry) Fessler.
A memorial aervice will be held on July 11 at Indian Hills Church, 1000 S. 84th St., Lincoln, Nebraska.
