Navy Seaman Carrie B. Nellans recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

During the eight-week program, Nellans completed a variety of training including classroom study and practical instruction along with an emphasis on physical fitness.

Nellans is the daughter of Martin and Alice Nellans of Peabody, a graduate of Peabody-Burns High School and the University of Kansas at Lawrence.
