Musical talent abounds
Three Peabody-Burns Junior High School band students participated Nov. 8 in the Kansas Music Educators Association South Central District Middle School Honor Band at Andover Central High School.
Brandee Burnett, clarinet, McKenzie Ensminger, alto saxophone, and Seth Topham, baritone saxophone, were selected to perform in the honor band with 120 students from schools in South Central Kansas.
After rehearsing during the morning and early afternoon, the band presented a concert.
Six students from Peabody-Burns High School Warrior Band participated Nov. 6, in the Heart of America League Instrumental Honors Concert at Inman.
The students rehearsed in the afternoon and then presented a concert that evening.
Students who attended were Julie Wedel, flute, Chris Loucks, clarinet, Aaron Topham, baritone saxophone, Kendall Wiebe, trumpet, Shelby Elliott, trumpet, and Taylor Ensminger, French horn.
Two PBHS students auditioned Nov. 8 for the Kansas Music Educators Association South Central District High School Honor Band.
Chris Loucks, clarinet, and Taylor Ensminger, French horn, were selected to participate in the honor band. They will perform Dec. 6 in a concert at Wichita State University.
