Mosquito briquettes available

Altosid mosquito briquettes are available free to Peabody water customers.

“We will pass them out on a first come, first served basis,” City Clerk Stephanie Ax said.

The briquettes should be placed in standing water ditches, ponds, drainage culverts, and water receptacles where mosquitoes may breed.

“Areas in Peabody like the abandoned alley between Vine St. and Olive St. that hold water most of the summer are prime spots,” Ax said.

Residents using the product should follow instructions included in the packet.
