Fourteen members of Peabody-Burns High School Business Professionals of America chapter will compete in the national conference May 4 through 8 in Washington, D.C.
To help defray costs, Mid-America Cooperative donated $500 to the chapter.
“We have had students qualify for the national competition every year,” adviser Patty Savage said. “This year we are fortunate to have 60 percent of our chapter qualify.”
Students compete in business events including public speaking, accounting, and computer events. Each student participates in two events at the state level. To qualify for the national competition, students must place first or second at the state level.
