Milford Stovall

Former Peabody gas station owner Milford D. Stovall of Newton died Thursday at Kidron Bethel Village in North Newton.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.

Born March 29, 1924, to Burton and Floral (Stratton) Stovall in Peabody, he graduated from Peabody High School and served in the Army. He worked for Graham Oil Company before buying the business and changing its name to Stovall Oil Company. He ran a Phillips 66 full-service gas station and delivered gas to area farmers. He was a VFW member.

On Feb. 13, 1947, he married Fern L. Spangler, who survives.

He also is survived by daughters Sharon Edmonds of Doland, South Dakota, and Pati Antonio of Newton; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

A brother, Melvin, preceded him in death.

Memorials have been established with Kidron Bethel and Good Shepherd Hospice.
