Mildred 'Micki' Holub

Mildred “Micki” Holub, 82, died Saturday in Manhattan.

She was born Feb. 13, 1930, in Marion to John and Antoniette Oborny Huna and was raised in the Pilsen community.

She married Sylvin Holub on Sept. 1, 1953, in Pilsen. She was a cook in the Lost Springs school and later Centre High School. She and her husband moved to Manhattan in the early 1990s and she worked in the food service department at Kansas State University.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvin, in 2003.

She is survived by three sons, Gary Holub of Leawood, Rod Holub of Manhattan, and John Holub of Hays; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen. There will be a Rosary at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Pilsen Cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled for noon to 8:30 p.m. today at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St., Marion.

A memorial fund has been established for the Fr. Kapaun Fund.
