Michelle Cubbage

Michelle’s life began on Saturday, March 25, 1967, in El Dorado, the daughter of Marion and Josette (Laheurte) Cubbage. Her beautiful life ended at age 49 on Friday, November 11, 2016, in Peabody.

She left behind her daughters Amber, 14, and Raven, 24, grandson Phoenix, brothers Frederick Cubbage, Pierre Cubbage, and Patrick Cubbage and wife, Janice, nieces and nephew Sylvie, Carly and Clay, and her “adopted kids.”

She was everyone’s mamacub, mom, and friend. She was always there for everyone. Michelle would give random rides to strangers and give people her last dollar. “Do at least one good deed a day — gives you a happy soul and Karma.”

She didn’t sugarcoat anything, but was spunky, outgoing, and gave the best advice. She was the “Mimi” who couldn’t think of a lullaby, so she sang the chorus to “Karma Chameleon” and the beginning of “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina.” She drove 80 miles each way to cheer on her daughter. Michelle was young at heart, listening to pop music, dancing, and singing in the car. She would stay up until 2 a.m. hanging out with her girls.

This is how she wanted to be remembered: No matter what name you used — mom, Mimi, Mamacub, friend, or Michelle — celebrating life. not mourning her death.

Family and friends gathered Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home. Her “Celebration of Life” was at 2 p.m. Saturday at Peabody United Methodist Church. She was laid to rest in Burns Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to Carlson Funeral Home for expenses. Please sign her guestbook and leave a memory of Michelle at www.carlsonkirbymorris.com.
