MES, PBES work together on inservice

Peabody-Burns and Marion elementary schools collaborated Sept. 26 for training on implementing multi-tiered system of supports. PBES has used the MTSS process for five years.

The inservice began with a presentation by USD 398 Curriculum Director Kathy Preheim, PBES title I teacher Michele Gossen, and PBES MTSS instructor Donna Glover. Their presentation covered the implementation process, grouping, and progress monitoring, as well as PBES success stories and challenges.

After the opening presentation, teachers from both schools were grouped by grade level to discuss resources, scheduling, and logistics of MTSS and more specific issues.

A meeting between leadership teams from the two schools determined the collaboration was mutually beneficial. They hope to continue collaboration on MTSS and other education issues in the future.
