Members of Marion Kiwanis Club will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the founding of their club Monday evening at a banquet with their wives and guests in the City Building. An interesting program is planned. W.J. Poundstone, Winfield, first club president, and Mrs. Poundstone are expected to attend.

Pictured on the front page is L. King and his trash wagon. On the wagon with him are children from the Weidenbener and Neuhauser families. The scene will bring a moment of nostalgia from long ago to many men and women who were kids in Marion and rode on the wagon with King.

Nine pupils at New Hope School and their teacher, Wanda Ireland, took in the sights Tuesday at Marion.

A three-act comedy, “Beauty and the Beef,” will be presented Thursday and Friday by the senior class of Marion High School. Lead parts will be played by Anne Burkholder, Charles Gutsch, Dean Hansen, Warren Hayen, Betty Holmes, Cherridah Mullikin, Dean Waddell, Betty Williams, and William Zeller. Maude Thompson is the director.

Donna Powell, Alta Stenzel, and Coleen Vogel, members of the girls’ glee club at the nurse’s training school at Research Hospital in Kansas City, joined other glee clubs recently in a performance of Kay Kyser’s “Kollege of Musical Knowledge” at Kansas City.
