Two of the four teenage Kansas City “toughs” who robbed the Janzen Jewelry store in Hillsboro August 13 will appear before District Judge James P. Coleman Sept 8. A third member of the youths is being held in Kansas City on another charge and the fourth is still at large.

The three coaches of the Marion football teams, E. M. Ireland, Floyd Yaussi, and A.W. Haizlip, are attending coaches training school at Wichita University this week.

Results of the playground tournament, according to Keith Mueller, director of activities, are as follows: Marbles, Buddy Winters, 1st, Larry McKibbin, 2nd, Dwight Gooding, 3rd; Mumble Peg, 10 and under, Neil Hoopes, John Minear, and Greg Henry; 11 and over, Don Winter, Jay Fisher, and Jerry Richards; Girl’s Ping Pong, Kay Navrat, Nancy Keazer, and Judy Coons; Boy’s Tennis, Jim Christensen, Greg Henry, and Bud Kelsey.

In the bubble gum contest the first five largest bubbles blown, in order, were by Connie Long, Linda Johnson, Jerry Stage, Wayne Johnson, and Jim Winters. A booby prize for the smallest bubble went to Ronnie Kelsey. The prizes — more bubble gum.
