At a meeting last Wednesday, county commissions came to the conclusion that the county home for the aged should be located in the Hawk block in the west-central part of Peabody.

Winner of a beef cook-off contest for high school senior girls, sponsored by Marion County Cow Belles last Saturday in the high school home economics room was Delores Linn for her lemon-baked steak. Runners-up were Kay Amick, beef burgers, and Sharon Youk, baked chuck steak.

Florence Kristek of Ramona was crowned queen Feb. 15 at the Sweetheart Ball at St. Joseph College, where she is completing her senior year. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kristek of Ramona.

Marion Warriors won their first round district tournament game in basketball this week at Peabody this week when they defeated Florence, 65-46. Jackson was high point man with 16. Schwemmer made 14; Just, 12; Ensey, 11; Kelsey, 5; Keazer, 5; and Schimpf and Hamlin, 1 each.

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Kline entertained members of the historical committee of the Evangelical Brethren Church at dinner Monday evening. Following the dinner, the committee worked on church history.
