Re-painting and renewing of the entire interior of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen recently has been completed. The interior work, at a cost of $8,400, was under the supervision of Gilbert Linnenberger of Salina.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Laubhan announce the engagement of their daughter, Sharon Kay Youk, to Gerald Dean Kelsey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kelsey. A June wedding is planned.
Diana Goertz missed $200 in Wednesday’s Cash Day drawing. Pete Smith, Marion, and Elizabeth Holder, Marion, each received $5. E.F. Bowman, Marion, missed $5. Hester Richter, Marion, received $10.
Michael Edmunds celebrated his 9th birthday Feb. 7 with a party at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Edmunds. Guests included Dennis Helmer, Mark Kline, Doug Marler, Freddie Nelson, Bill Ford, Rickey Schwendiman, and Bradley Kimball. Mrs. Edmunds was assisted by Marsha Childs.
Virginia Dody was crowned Centre homecoming queen Feb. 15 between the B and A games with Council Grove. Other candidates were Linda Strome, Metta Rae Stegeman, Gloria Lewerenz, and Virginia Fike. Escorts are Jerry Meirowsky, Dennis Daetwiler, Ivan Riffel, Dee Kolzow, and Raymond Martin.
