International Farm Youth Exchange (IFYE) representative Matti Sipila of Finland will arrive in Marion County June 11 to spend three weeks at the Cyrus Goertz family of Marion. Sipila is one of two from Finland visiting the United States this summer.

Heavy rains have put streams on a rampage over the county.

A new improvement at Marion Central Park is the new picnic pavilion with concrete floor, two picnic tables, benches, and electrical outlets. The improvement is made from the old Boy Scout house that has been unused for several years.

A busload of foreign students attending Kansas State University is making a three-day tour though Central Kansas.

In Marion County they will visit and view the Allen Pankratz swine operation, the Suderman Brothers purebred Hampshire sheep flock, and will tour the Tip Top Dairy plant in Hillsboro.

Among students from Marion County who recently graduated from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia are Allen Steely and Rodney Podszus, Lincolnville; Jerome Vajnar, Tampa; Donna Jost and Eileen Pavey, Marion; and Richard Laubhan, Durham.
