A public meeting Monday afternoon dealt with Marion’s proposed application for a federal grant to construct new water lines. Mike Elson of Flint Hills Regional Planning Commission was present to explain procedures and assist with the application

Jeff Brewer, a talented musician and successful teacher in his third year at Marion, is the subject of this week’s “Personality Profile.”

Mark Rathert, a native of Marion, has been named project coordinator during construction of a new 36-hole golf course that will be a part of a resort proposed 85 miles south of Wichita on the Kaw Reservoir. His parents are Ann and Francis Rathert of Marion.

Twenty-one members and friends of Neo-Century Club attended a fashion show April 3 at Pat Nuss’s Sassy Shop.

Lester Griffith was honored Saturday night at a retirement supper. He has been county extension director and agricultural agent for 18 years.

Broadway’s longest-running musical, “Fiddler on the Roof,” will be presented Friday and Saturday at Marion Municipal Auditorium. Players in leading roles are Sandy Bridges, Greg Boyle, Jerry Elmore, Molly Ferrell, Mike Fruechting, Lori Harris, Bill Hoch, Randy Just, Linda Schaffer, and Colene Wiebe.
