A front-page story tells that the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Just, 310 S. Lincoln St., was once the residence of Marion’s most legendary financial wizard, E.M.Donaldson. The house faces west. When the Donaldsons lived there in the 19th century, there were no improvements west to Mud Creek.

Ronald Mueller and Francie Klenda were selected as king and queen Friday night at Centre’s homecoming game. Their attendants were Cathy Madden, Donald Mueller, Sharon Costello, Russell Kerbs, Janelle Albrecht, Steve Jirak, Gayla Gutsch, and Jim Costello.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Ronning, Overland Park, announce the engagement of their daughter, Lucia Lee, to Douglas Lynn Keazer, Peoria Heights, Illinois, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Keazer, Marion.

Mayor Peggy Blackman is pictured as she presents a 25-year diamond studded service pin to Bud Pierce. Pierce, who has been finance commissioner for 12 years, also has served as a member of the Marion fire department.

Jayson Hanschu, son of Mr. and Mrs. Junior Hanschu of Ramona, won first in the 11-year-old division of Punt, Pass, and Kick last Sunday, moved on to zone competition this weekend, and again finished first. He now will compete for district honors Saturday at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
