The Personality Profile column this week features Harold Ewert, who after spending a number of years in other activities has returned to Marion County and is in charge of the Marion County weed department.

Mary Lou Bowers and Rick Just exchanged double-ring marriage vows Aug. 20 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church.

Leo Bezdek, son of Louise Bezdek of Tampa, has accepted a position as a pilot for Delta Airlines. He recently completed two months training at the Delta Center in Atlanta and now is based at O’Hare Airport in Chicago. He is a second officer (engineer pilot) aboard a Boeing 727.

Varsity cheerleaders at Marion High School are sophomores Greta Helmer and Carla Jost, juniors Annette Nienstedt and Donna Stovall, and senior Adah McGranor. Junior varsity cheerleaders are freshmen Gena Helmer and Lanell Tajchman and sophomores Janice Wiens, Jamie Richmond, Jan Nuss, and Julie Hett.

Mr. and Mrs. John Garrard and Robin have returned from a trip to the south. Places visited included Frankfort, Kentucky, where John’s great-great-great grandfather served as the second governor of Kentucky and was the first governor to live in the governor’s mansion.
