Wheat harvest will get underway again in Marion County just as soon as the fields dry out from rains that fell Sunday and Monday.
The newest sport in Marion, an 18-hole miniature golf course, will open Sunday, according to Bob Risenhoover, owner and manager. The course is located at 119 Thorp St., north of MarBowl Lanes.
Randy Cash of Florence was sentenced Tuesday in juvenile division of Marion County District Court in the double deaths of his grandparents, Mr and Mrs. D.C. Kent, also of Florence. The conviction was for the equivalent of second-degree murder. But, in juvenile court, the violation is termed as delinquency. The maximum term would be until he is 21.

It was 40 years ago this month, on June 7, that the first dance was held in the Starlite Ballroom at Pilsen. Ernie Kolman and the Harmony Kings provided the music for that first dance.
