Marion city commissioners heard reports Monday afternoon about vandalism in Central Park. Police Chief Don Keazer reported that three memorial gas lights had been broken over the weekend and that debris from a party was left nearby. Because of an increase in vandalism, commissioners are considering closing the park at 11 p.m. daily.
Mike Regnier of Marion won a new 1993 GMC pickup while attending an automotive open house Saturday at Big Western Warehouse in Wichita.
“Pillow Talk,” a comedy in three acts, will be this year’s spring production by drama students at Marion High School. Lesley Sieger will play a young New York interior decorator, and Micah Hanson will play a successful songwriter / playboy.
Students from Marion High School participated in a community service day Friday in Marion and Florence, doing odd jobs to help beautify each community and show appreciation to citizens.
Specially designed buttons will be used for admission to Summerfest ’93. The buttons, bearing the ’93 Summerfest logo, have been designed by Marion High School student Bryan Padgham. “Liverpool,” the opening act June 12, is a Beatles tribute band.
