In a somewhat anticipated move Feb. 25, the Marion board of education unanimously approved participating in a different league. The board voted 7-0 to accept a bid to be a part of the Heart of America League.

Marion County commissioners voted Friday to hire Sanborn of St. Louis to take aerial photographs in the county for use in a detailed, accurate county map.

Debbie Craig is shown visiting with resident Henry Sklenar as she completes her final week as director of resident services at St. Luke Living Center. She has had the position for the past 20 or more years. Janet Herzet will take her place and will continue as Marion County Home Care director.

Sixteen Marion Elementary School students were honored this week for their commitment to being responsible and respectful and doing their best during the month of February.

The students are Gunner Brown, Chloe Burkholder, Jacob Crabb, Julia Hall, Jenna Helmer, Erika Hess, Alli Hett, Caleb Hett, Skylar King, Seth Lanning, Jessie Lewman, Paige May, Elizabeth Meyer, Michaela Regnier, Bryce Shults, and Alexa Smith.
