After a 30-minute tour of the former Golden Living Center facility, Marion City Council approved purchase of the building for $100,000 — a special price, just for the city’s consideration. No planned use was announced.
This year’s Farm/City banquet, sponsored by Marion Chamber of Commerce, will begin at 6 p.m. Monday in Marion City Building basement. This annual event is a show of appreciation to area farmers and ranchers for their support of local businesses.
Marion Warriors will play host Dec. 8 to 13 to the Marion Classic in its brand new gymnasium located in the Sports and Aquatics Center.
Four homes will be open Nov. 30 during Marion’s Christmas home tour, “A Natural Noel,” sponsored by Marion City Library. Included are the homes of Rick and Linda Sardou at Marion County Lake; Brad and Jeannie Wildin, 524 S. Cedar St.; Claude and Phyllis Landis, 2230 Sunrise Rd., and Gerald and Jan Wiens, 407 S. Lincoln St.
Letters written by second graders in Susan Hall and Shannon Cooper’s classes telling their feelings about the Thanksgiving holiday are published in this issue.
