The oyster supper at Rogers Hall, gotten up by the ladies of the Presbyterian church, will be ready at half past five o’clock, this “Friday evening, so you can go there and get your supper at the usual supper time.

Jordan, the photographer, is positively determined to close his gallery and retire from business on the first of November. Those of you who want your “picters” taken should govern yourselves accordingly, and don’t imagine that Jordan is fooling.

The new Christian church is enclosed, and the Glover Brothers are painting it.

Republicans, bury your disappointment, your differences, and rally around your ticket. Support it, elect it, and show slander-mongers that such infamous warfare of calumny and personal vituperation as has been waged against their candidates only solidifies the Republican party. Vote the straight ticket.

President Hayes will pass through Peabody to-morrow night. He is on his way back from the Pacific, to make one of Garfield’s thirty thousand majority in Ohio next Tuesday.

Will Bates has sold his store to Charley Bowron. “Oh, Willie, how we miss thee” from the old familiar corner. You have a host of friends, Willie, who wish you great success.

We would also extend the hand of welcome to Charley Bowron, the new proprietor, and bespeak for this worthy young man the patronage of the people.
