Atchison is following Marion Centre’s excellent example, only on a much larger scale. Atchison is expending $40,000 in macadamizing its streets.

Dr. Hannaford has purchased the splendid Magnesia Mound stone quarry from the Groat Bros. Tommy Groat retains control of the quarry this year and announces he is prepared to furnish this most excellent building material on demand. He say he can not furnish it quite as cheap as surface stone stolen from railroad land can be furnished, by as reasonably as any one can ask.
