The youngest inhabitant will scarcely live long enough to forget the wind that visited this section early Sunday morning and remained all day long—a constant tempest from sunrise till sunset. The beating winds drove the powdered dust through every crevice, until one could write his name upon the furniture in most of the house. It was a storm simply indescribable.

There was one good thing about Sunday. People, who wouldn’t go to church, couldn’t go a-fishing.

At a great Grant meeting in Chicago, last week, a son of Abraham Lincoln presided and a son of Stephen A. Douglass made a speech.

Work is progressing rapidly on the M. & M. extension west of McPherson. It is expected that cars will reach McPherson by the middle of May. Toot, toot, main line!

Born, to the wife of Jacob Keller, of Catlin township, April 18th, a son. Here’s our hand, Jacob, in congratulation. May your son live to lighten your labors in old age.
