The thermometer registered 70 above Sunday and dropped to seven below Monday.

The prospects are that next summer’s heat can be assuaged by plenty of ice water. Wood and Frybarger, Charlie Mehl, butcher Schmidt, and others have put up and abundance of ice.

The legal fraternity of Marion Centre has been reinforced by the addition of a new member, a Mr. Drum, of Missouri.

We understand that Jake Brumbaugh has returned but haven’t seen him yet and can’t believe it until we do.

The last we heard of him he was turning Hoosierdom upside down with his eloquence.

This issue contains references to a number of marriages. Among them are Mr. Aaron Bibler and Miss Sadie Campbell; Mr. D.L. Yeagley and Miss Eliza Kraft; Mr. Ira L. Cline and Miss Lucy E. Horton; and Mr. Henry Brumbaugh and Miss Angey Perkey.

Marion Centre’s string band is getting quite a reputation. Pardey says that it’s the best he has heard in the state.
