A steam heating plant recently installed at the jail is a fine piece of work by Pollitt and Kleinhammer. All it lacks is acceptance by the commissioners.

There was a good game of polo Monday night at the rink between the Bankers and Mechanics, resulting 3-1 in favor of the Mechanics.

By Saturday of this week, Sheriff Mansfield will be settled again at the jail residence with telephone connections complete as of yore.

C.W. Thompson, manager of The Grand Mercantile Company, has been in Kansas City and St. Louis the past week buying goods for spring trade.

The post office bookstore has a new postcard case in the shape of a Ferris wheel. It displays the cards most effectively.

Home talent entertainments given in Marion recently bear out an assertion by the Record some months ago. You remember we said then it was not necessary for Marion to depend on traveling companies for entertainment but give more encouragement to our home people. We are still of the same opinion. And Marion audiences are loyal.
