Alex Case already is at work on the Old Settlers program for our next meeting. He has invited former resident and the first governor of the state, Samuel J. Crawford, to come and make a speech. Regrettably, Sam said he would be pleased to attend but to not count on him for his health is not as it used to be.

That man Dockstader has ordered a fine new cab — the finest the town has ever had. It will have seats for six and will be rubber-tired and right up to snuff in every way.

Wolf and Fox, proprietors of the Creamery, have an auto truck for delivering their ice cream buckets. They have built up a fine business.

Workmen have been clearing the stuff out of the old building at the east end of the stone arch bridge preparatory to moving the building away. Let the good work go on.

Plans are well under way for the erection of a fine new Catholic church at Pilsen. The structure will be one of the finest, if not the finest, church buildings in the county and will cost at least $30,000. A large part of the money already has been raised.

Owners of property on east Main street are agitating the proposition of paving, and the prospects for paving east from the bridge, up the schoolhouse hill and possibly as far east as the Tilson corner are said to be very good.
