The girls of the Community Guild will go about the town on Christmas Eve, singing to the aged shut-ins. Will those who wish to have the girls sing, kindly leave a light in the window. Anyone who is willing to help, please meet at the Presbyterian church at 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Hint—the world should have a medal of honor for the person who can find some way of preserving the spirit of Christmas for use throughout the year.

We have neglected to note the publication of a newspaper at Tampa which has now been issued several weeks. The plant was brought from Durham where it had been operated for a year or so publishing the Durham Tribune. The paper is continued at Tampa under the name of the Tampa Times.

The County Commissioners at their meeting this week decided to decorate the interior of the courthouse. The walls of the big county building have stood just as completed when the building was built and have never had any kind of finish. In many of the rooms the walls have become so stained that they present a very unsightly appearance. The walls throughout the building will be tinted and put in good shape.

Another big rain Monday night-Tuesday morning was so springlike that one merchant was tempted to put in a window display of garden seeds. It was said that fish worms were coming to the surface and other real signs of Spring were manifest—at eleven o’clock. At one, people were hurrying for cover, coat collars turned up and rushing their orders for coal.

Mary Blackim, who was riding with several other girls in a Ford the other day, was thrown into the windshield when another car backed out from the curb and struck their car. A rather painful face injury was received.
