City Commissioners ordered an automobile fire truck for the city fire department the first of the week. The recent experiences with fires here have forced the necessity for this equipment. $2,000 will be paid on delivery and $1,758.75 on July 15, 1921. Delivery is expected soon.

Marion County was a fair example of the unprecedented vote given the Republican nominee for president, Warren G. Harding,

County Farm Agent Meyers expects to make an effort this fall to clean out the lands infested by prairie dogs in the west end of the county. Marion County has much more than its share of the prairie dogs at present.

Join the crowd at the Grand Saturday afternoon at 3:30. They are giving away a fine wicker rocking chair and a pair of men’s or women’s shoes free.

The young married folk’s class of the Federated Church enjoyed a typical Halloween party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Skinner. Guests were met with ghostly ghosts and conducted to the large barn which was dimly lighted with Jack-o-lanterns. Games were played and a wienie roast around a bonfire in the woods wound up a most enjoyable evening.

A few of the items advertised this week by Richardson Bros., the quality grocers, include Pure country sorghum, in bulk, $1.50 per gallon; Homemade honey, full weight comb, 45c; New package of pancake flour called Quaker, made with puffed wheat and other cereals, 20c per pkg.; Pickwick white asparagus tips, can, 55c; Old fashioned hominy, in rich milk, can, 20c.
