Mary Ann Brown

Mary Ann (Donahue) Brown, 73, Herington, died Feb. 25 at the Herington Municipal Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

She was born July 17, 1942, to Edward E. and M. Ernestine “Teen” (Yancey) Donahue in Hillsboro.

Funeral services were Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Herington. Burial followed at Sunset Hill Cemetery.

She retired from Fort Riley in 2010. She also was a sales representative for AVON over 40 years.

She was a past Worthy Matron of Esther Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of Esther Club, both of Herington.

She was a member of the D.A.R. of Council Grove, and past president of N.A.R.F.

Survivors include a daughter Bobbi Ann Korgol; brothers Vance Donahue and Wm. “Bill” Donahue, both of Herington; and two granddaughters. She also is survived by her longtime companion of 27 years, Duane “Bud” Biehler of Herington.

She was preceded in death by her son Timothy R. Maybee on August 2, 1982.

Memorials are requested to the Herington Hospital Foundation or the Hospice of Dickinson County in care of the funeral home.
