Police Report

Marion police officers also conducted follow-up investigations and traffic stops, worked on reports, and provided Vehicle Identification Number Inspections.

Jan. 24: Criminal damage to property was reported. Officers participated in training.

Jan. 25: School zones were patrolled. A gas leak was reported in the 100 block of North Roosevelt Street. Debris was removed from a street. An officer responded to a report of a problem at OASIS.

Jan. 26: School zones were patrolled. A citizen was fingerprinted. A non-injury accident was investigated. Officers attended training.

Jan. 27: School zones were patrolled. An officer met with the county attorney regarding pending cases. Junk vehicle reports were reviewed. Officers attended court hearings. Response was given to an activate bank alarm.

Jan. 28: School zones were patrolled. A parking complaint was checked. A suspicious person report was checked. A barking dog complaint was filed.

Jan. 29: School zones were patrolled. Officers responded to a non-injury accident.

Jan. 30: A possible missing person was reported. A vehicle was reported in a ditch south of Marion.

Jan. 31: Officers attended training. Emergency Medical Services personnel received assistance with a call. A welfare check was provided.

Feb. 1: School zones were patrolled. Assistance with home visits was provided to community corrections and Social and Rehabilitative Services personnel. Officers responded to OASIS for an out-of-control juvenile. Criminal damage to property was reported. Assistance was provided to another agency. A citizen met with an officer regarding a civil matter.

Feb. 2: School zones were patrolled. Evidence was transported to Kansas Bureau of Investigation. An officer responded to OASIS for an out-of-control juvenile. Assistance was provided to Marion County Sheriff’s Department.

Feb. 3: School zones were patrolled. Criminal damage to property was reported.

Thursday: School zones were patrolled. A 911 hang-up was checked. An officer met with SRS personnel regarding a case. A dog complaint was reported. A door-to-door salesman was checked for permits. SRS personnel received assistance with a home visit. Officers made four arrests.

Friday: School zones were patrolled. Junk vehicle reports were reviewed. A dog was reported running at large. An injury accident was investigated. Criminal damage to property was reported.

Saturday: A dog was reported running at large. An officer met with a concerned citizen. A lost motorist received assistance. Assistance was provided to a sheriff’s deputy. Peabody Police Department received assistance with cases.

Officers issued six warnings and made six arrests.
