Marian Llamas, 85, of Newton, died Oct. 16, 2008, at Newton Presbyterian Manor, Newton.
Born Feb. 7, 1923, at El Paso, Texas, she was the daughter of Gregorio and Emeteria (Nunez) Saenz.
On Sept. 2, 1941, she married Guadalupe Llamas at Newton. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a cook in the Newton school district, and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Carlos Saenz, a sister, Dee Delgado, and a grandson, Christopher Llamas.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary and husband George Short of Wichita, Rose Martinez of Newton, and Susan and husband John Rangle of Newton; four sons, Guadalupe Jr. and wife Dessie Llamas of Pasadena, Texas, Phillip Llamas of Wichita, Gary Llamas of Newton, and Mark Llamas and fiancé Gloria Arrellano of Newton; a sister, Jenny Rodriguez of Newton; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Recitation of the Rosary was Sunday evening at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday morning at the church with The Reverend Juan Garza presiding. Burial was at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
A memorial fund has been established in care of the church.
