‘Margie’ Stroda

Friends and family will pay their respects for Margaret “Margie” (Vinduska) F. Stroda, 90, of Ramona, who passed away surrounded by the love of family Saturday, from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Marion. Private family burial will be later at Pilsen Cemetery.

Margie’s life began April 2, 1930, in Pilsen. She was a daughter of George and Amelia (Neuwirth) Vinduska. Margie attended parochial school at St. John Nepomucene Catholic School in Pilsen.

She was united in marriage to Maurice Stroda on Aug. 31, 1948, at St. John Nepomucene Church. Margie was a lifetime member of the church and a member of St. Anne’s Altar Society.

She was a mother, wife, and homemaker who took great pride in raising her eight children.

Her loving family includes children Tom Stroda of Austin, Texas; Terry (and wife Bonnie) Stroda of Houston; Marilyn Stroda of Hope; Bob (and wife Leann) Stroda of Salina, Arthur Stroda of Ramona; Elaine (and husband Randy) Stirn of Salina; Jane (and husband David) Staatz of Ramona; and James (and wife Melanie) Stroda of Edwardsville, Kansas.

Her family also includes grandchildren Jeremy (and wife Wendy) Stroda, Melissa (and husband Josh) Hopkins, Brian Haden, Tracy Haden, Michelle (and husband Scott) Foutch, Kelly Stroda, Spencer Stroda, Sara (and husband Scott) Smith, Steven Stroda, Christopher Carpentier, Erica (and husband Matt) Bellinger, Amanda (and husband Grant) Wagner, Evan Stirn, Jennifer (and husband Vincent) Madron.

Additional grandchildren include Stefanie and Emily Staatz, Ashley Smith, Adam, Abby, and Allie McClure, and Mallory (and husband Austin) Case.

Great-grandchildren include Chad, Josie, Alexander, Kiana, Kaylee, Ryan, Conner, Mathew, Paige, Andrew, Allison, Madylyn, William, Emma, Kade, Apollo, Carter, Jayden, Althea, and Smith.

Other survivors include siblings Harold Vinduska of Florence and Kenneth (and wife Bonnie) Vinduska of Marion and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maurice; her brother, Edwin Vinduska; and her sister, Sylvia Morovec.
